Cool NPR piece on getting rid of 9-5. This kind of lifestyle would be really amazing. I would be able to have time to pursue hobbies. On the other hand, it is very convenient to work with people in person.
my work is mostly like that, but for me there's so much hands-on work and collaborative stuff that in practice i'm generally doing 9+ hour days. but i'm trying to make up for it by taking a long weekend at least once a month..
yea, i love this idea! US has terrible work/life balance. Most of the world does, really. B/c all we think about is more profit. If we had more time on the side to spend with our friends and family and pursue hobbies, that'd be much better. I would like that much more. This is why I love chill research labs... Flexible schedules
