IT WORKS AHHHHH

WOW I FINALLY GOT THESE TRANSCEIVERS TO TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE DATA!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

AMAZING!! I AM HIGH RIGHT NOW FROM THAT. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to do it because I really need to get going on my project and maybe switch to a different device. WHEW

I'm using CC2500. I don't think I would recommend them, though. But I don't really know what the alternatives are really like. It seems very difficult. There must be a better way...

Chinese New Year

That's today! It's the year of the rat. Wow. Does this mean Hillary Clinton is going to win?

Today, I went to the first day of my last semester at MIT. It was actually the third day of school, though. I was too lame to go to school the other days. I am taking an electromagnetism class, and everything is way over my head. Business as usual!

Obama wins Iowa!!!

and now he's up in New Hampshire by 10 points!

the exit polls for iowa were really interesting, too.

Turnout for Democrats was double that of 2008, and it was double the turnout to the Republican primary. In addition, the youth vote (ages 17-29) increased from 17% to 22%, and if turnout doubled then it really increased a lot. The youth voted overwhelmingly for Obama. Obama also carried women! Eat that, Hillary!

first day of vacation

hey, i'm at the von trapp family lodge in stowe, vermont!

we had dinner and saw his parents and other people perform at shelburne farms.
classical music on the lawn.

toby and i were talking about memes the other day. so the selfish gene idea is that people aren't selfish, genes are, and then there are people who are like, viruses are selfish, too, and now there are people who are like, so are memes. so everyone's like, yeah, genes are like viruses are like memes. but i feel unconvinced/confused about what they really mean by that and what are the implications. what do you think?
