UMD just started a new student group, Scientists and Engineers for America. Man, that name kinda makes me hate them. I've been too busy to read up on them so I can hate them properly, but it also reminded me of an article on how sometimes scientists need to butt out of politics and 'expert witness'ing etc. basically, scientists get angry about non-scientists making decisions not based on data, but too often and they also assume that if they're the one with some evidence that they think says what they want, they must be right.
hope that made sense. not enough sleep these days.
and while we're at it, engineers are awesome.
